Vision Of Kanye

So I was randomly looking at music videos on youtube as I tend to do sometimes. And my surfing led me to a Kanye West video which led to another Kanye video which led to another which led to....you get the point. Any ways I realized(or should I say reminded) that Kanye's videos were very meaningful in its imagery. So brought up the topic I recently post on blog about Video Artistry. And watching these old Kanye music videos I can say at least musically/video wise he is a Genius. I decided to take one video from each of Kanye's albums and break them down a little, just to show my reasons for loving the particular video.

808's & Heartbreak: Heartless

Right off the back, what makes this video stand out is the way it was shot. It is very different to have a hip hop artist video in complete cartoon/painting form. The visuals to me are absolutely beautiful, abstract, and captivating. I pay attention to details well and the backgrounds of certain scenes still confuse me. I love that there is a mysterious meaning behind the settings of the video.

Graduation: Flashing Lights

I chose this video because people to this day do not understand this video. Im not saying I know for sure the meaning behind this video but Im saying I have a pretty good idea. Now let's first focus on the obvious. This video is very simply shot. One location, one video girl, a car, Kanye, and a shovel lol. I believe that the chorus and bits of the second verse explains the video well enough. Saying "I didnt you would take it this far" can relate to her tying Kanye up and killing him in the trunk. Initially this song is about the price of fame but with this video it also has the meaning of a chaotic and destructive relationship.
Also extra credit for having a girl with a lovely chest. (Im human, so sue me)

Late Registration: Heard Em Say

This is another video that combines visual art with lyrical art. The video is very gritty looking with the charcoal based sketches. The cartoonish characters make the images hard hitting as well as light hearted, so the points of the music can be conveyed while being emphasized at the same time.

College Dropout: The New Workout Plan

It was really hard choosing what video to choose for this album. But what made me pick this one is the very subtle things in the video. I know the song is about how to be a video hoe basically masked as a "workout plan". But if you pay close attention to the little sentences at the bottom of the video they are subliminally saying being a hoe to get with a star is not good. Kanye use a great mixture of ignorance and intellect. For some simple people the video is just cute women with big tities *Ye shrugs* but its more than that if you can pick up on that kind of thing. Also what makes this video great is that its funny as hell.
Bonus for Fonzworth jumping in the middle of the song
